Teens Summer Adventure Camps
Revelstoke Alpine Adventures is excited to be offering one and two week summer adventure camps for teens in July and August.
The Revelstoke area and surrounding wilderness is rich in human history and offers the opportunity to get off " the beaten track" and into true wilderness.
The intention of these camps is to assist your teen to become self reliant and to gain confidence through a variety of exciting and supervised wilderness activities.
We also aim to impart a sense of place with lectures and discussions on the natural and human history of the area.
All of our camps are staffed by male and female instructors and every camp will have at least one guide certified by the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides. The camps will be based at local provincial group campgrounds and in the backcountry for the backpacking and mountaineering portions of the trip. See tabs below for more details on both camps.

One Week Wilderness Adventure Camps for Teens
Ages 13-15
This camp will offer your young teen the opportunity to explore British Columbia's amazing Selkirk Mountains while learning
new skills, making new friends and gaining confidence and self reliance.
These camps are
meant to be FUN, while still providing challenges and opportunities for personal growth.
Our guides and instructors have many years of experience and we love to share our passion for British Columbia's mountains, wild places and history.
We guarantee this camp will be an unforgettable and life changing experience for your teen.
During this Adventure Camp your teen will learn many new skills including
- low impact wilderness camping and backpacking leave no trace)
- basic rock climbing skills
- mountain travel/how to travel safely in wild country
- how to plan a backcountry trip
- basic camping, cooking and bear aware skills
- basic survival skills
- local natural history including plants and animals of the Selkirk Mountains.
- local human history including first nations, the fur trade and early railway, mining and mountaineering history
This camp will run six nights and seven days beginning Saturday morning and finishing Friday night.

Prerequisites
A basic level of fitness is required to attend this adventure camp. Participants will be required to carry an overnight pack of up to 15 kilos.

This camp will begin at 6 PM with a pre trip meeting at our downtown Revelstoke office in Grizzly Plaza 120 MacKenzie Ave.
Ratios
We have a maximum ratio of five campers per instructor with both male and female guides and instructors

Two Week Selkirk Wilderness Adventure Camp for Teens
Ages 15-17
The Selkirk Wilderness Adventure Camp will provide an unforgettable and life changeing experience for your teen. In this course your teen will begin to develop the skills necessary to take charge and control their sense of place in the world. Respect for team mates and the environment are neccessary qualities to meet the challenges put before them.
This two week course is lead by ACMG certified instructors and leaders with a passion for the outdoors.
During this camp your teen will learn the following :
- basic rock climbing skills
- trip planning
- navigation
- low impact widerness camping
- basic mountaineering skills
- basic camping, cooking and bear aware skills
- survival skills
- local natural history including plants and animals of the Selkirk Mountains
- local human history including first nations, the fur trade and early railway, mining and mountaineering history
Your teen will take home a new sense of confidence and will begin to see challenges, not as obstacles but as a chance to excel.
Participants will be given responsibilities that will thrill and challenge them as they begin to realize their potential. They will develop leadership skills alongside confidence and independence.

Three Day Rock Climbing Course for Teens
Ready to learn new skills and challenge yourself?
This three day rock climbing course will provide you with the basic skills and safe techniques you will need to pursue the exciting sport of rock climbing. The rock climbing areas near Revelstoke are world class with solid rock and short approaches and we will have the opportunity to visit a variety of different venues. This sport is FUN and will make you strong while overcoming challenges.

5 Day Teens Backpacking Trip
This four night/five day backpacking trip is an unforgettable experience where you will get off the beaten track and into the "real "wilderness of the Selkirk and Monashee Mountains. This is BIG country! Spectacular glaciers, ridges and meadows will amaze you with their beauty. You will learn trip planning, basic navigation, camp craft, survival skills and safe mountain travel skills. If conditions permit we will also climb a peak as part of this program.
